Dear parents,
The Boise School District uses what is called Infinite Campus for their Student Information System. This will allow parents to see the grades that are being put into the grade book immediately. It also encourages active participation so you can see what your child is doing.
Infinite Campus has different tools that it offers. These tools include: curriculum, attendance, instruction, school services, communication and reporting and analysis. I will be using all of these tools to keep you updated on your child's progress and the progress of our classroom.
I will make sure that I use the curriculum, attendance, reporting and analysis, and school services (events) for you. These tools will be easily accessible and will help you to continue knowing everything that happens in my classroom.

Spreadsheets
My mac would not let me complete this assignment, and this is the first time I was around a pc.
I chose the project with the pumpkins. In this project Mr. Oliver wanted the students to use higher level thinking and be able to put all of their skills that they had just learned into a fun assignment. The task was for the students to find out whether or not big pumpkins have more seeds in them than small pumpkins. They guessed at different answers, then conducted the experiment, and lastly put in the information into a spreadsheet so that they could gather the information and find the answers to their question.
I would adapt this to my students areas of needs by asking them to create a spreadsheet to help organize data that they are collecting for a project. Similar to what they did here, but along with other assignments, for things like history or even math. I think that this would be very effective for some student, and would help them understand more of the content in this organized way. I also have a teacher who had her students create spreadsheets for the amount of pages that they read and summnaries of the chapters. I thought this would be very helpful to be able to keep track of this, and then having the summaries right there for you to review before they take a test or create something based on the book. Its a very organized structured way to do this, and I thought it was very benificial, and would like to do this with my students.
